Well- this is looking exciting!! Have you used the lighting dome I showed you last Thursday? Is this a night time shot...? If so- why not try out some tiny light on the castle that might start to emulate the lights a castle would have on it- is this castle in modern times today or is it back in the middle ages- that would also have an influence on how you light it. If it is today- you might really want to have fun lighting the spiral- or how about placing some small spot lights at the bottom of the castle walls and aim them up. You could put fog in them as well. Love the bricks- or cement blocks- but scale wise they look a bit big- and therefore make the castle look smaller- decrease there size and proportionately the building looks bigger. Also of course we will work on the repeats on the texture on the earth- many ways to solve that- making tileable textures, or also we could work with a planar projection - that we could then turn into a uv texture(file convert) and paint on to give it real variation. Or we coul use the 3d paint package in Maya- don't worry about that too much this week- as this mid term is all about having things roughly laid out- so lets see a camera move that shows how you would approach the castle- and how about palying around with different establishing shots and then a middium shot and some close ups- just like in a film if you were introducing the castle as a character. Waiting to see what the interior of the castle will look like- love that it is up on a hill- but what is surrounding it ...? GREAT WORK!
Wow this looks incredible. Nicely done! Nice use of texture.
